Replacement Air Conditioning Evaporator Assembly for Hitachi Excavators.

The ASM Evaporator system is a direct replacement of the original Hitachi system installed. This system is able to be fitted into EX3600, EX5500, EX5600 and EX8000, Dash 5 & Dash 6.

The ASM Evaporator Assembly has been designed for the simple reason to reduce maintenance downtime and effort. The system is the brain child of an Auto Electrician and a Boilermaker that saw an opportunity to improve a hard to maintain system. The ASM system has been designed as to directly replace the OEM system using OEM control system and mostly OEM components.

ASM Industries assembles Lithium batteries from components sourced within Australia. these can be made to suit nearly any application.

Our first battery was a 160AH Lithium with 100 amp continuous discharge current. this was designed to be mounted on a work ute where space was limited. it was mounted on the inside of a front under tray box, between the box and the chassis rail. it also included a plate on the front to mount a Redarc BCDC1225D.

Highlights of the ASM AC system:

Highlights:

1. Heavy duty stainless steel construction. Assemble is designed to last the life of the machine.

2. Cold air outlets come out the top of the box. These are constructed of stainless steel and allow easy connection to the OEM air ducting or ASM’s hard piped air ducting (option). This frees up room in the cab riser.

3. Easley installed into Excavator with “NO HOT WORK” required. Assembly I mounted in a wall frame that bolts to the inside wall of the cab riser.

4. Assembly is fully rubber mounted to deal with the extreme environment this system is working in.

5. Option has been allowed for the fitment of two(2) cab pressurises. Wiring to these pressurises are integrated into the assemblies wiring harness.

6. Improved heater tap assembly which uses OEM actuators(-5&-6)

7. OEM blower motor, improved mounting of the blower motor. This has reduced the time required to change out, from 4 hrs to 3 minutes.

8. OEM evaporator core, improved mounting of the core allows it to removed from the evaporator box, cleaned and/or inspected without removing the gas from the system.

9. ASM heater core, this core has been designed to allow maximum air flow through the system.

10. Evaporator and heater cores mounted in purpose designed plastic housing to reduce chaffing and keep insulated.

11. OEM TX valve and hoses, connection to a dash requires no hose changes. Dash 5’s requiring suction and liquid lines changed to dash 6 hoses.

Recommended maintenance Plan:

The ASM system is designed to reduce the maintenance required to keep the systems running. It can be broken into two (2) types of servicing.

1. Preventive maintenance inspection.

2. Annual system service.

Preventive Maintenance Inspection.

This service is carried out on a regular basis as per the site servicing schedule. During this service the following is guide to the work carried out:

· Change out cabin return air filters.

· Change out cabin pressurizes filters if fitted.

· Connect Air conditioning gauges and test each systems gas pressures are correct.

· Ensure all condenser fans are working.

· Visually inspect all hoses for signs of chaffing and leaks. Change on condition.

· Visually inspect entirety of the systems for damage or defects.

Annual System Service.

This service is carried on an annual basis. During this service the following is a guide to the work carried out:

· Replace compressors on all systems.

· Replace driers on all systems

· Replace TX valves on all systems

· Remove the evaporator cores and inspect/clean, change on condition.

· Change out cabin return air filters.

· Change out cabin pressurizes filters if fitted.

· Change out discharge hoses on all systems. This can be done biannual.
